The 2020 RPMF Grant Application process is now open!October 2, 2019
We are pleased to announce that we are ready to accept applications for RPMF Grants for the coming year. The online application form will remain open to accept applications until November 30th, 2019, and we will make the announcement of the Grant Recipients in January 2020.
The Application Form is available on the “Apply for a Grant” page HERE:
We shall only accept applications made via the Online Form, before the midnight deadline, on November 30th, so everyone has more than enough time to get their application in. We shall not accept late applications as there is a lot of work to be done by the Trustees to review and discuss the hundreds of Applications that we receive each year. The Grants Committee will look at each applicant thoroughly, in order to make the best possible selection of athletes to support this year.
Unfortunately, we cannot help everyone, as our funds are limited, but we endeavour to help as many able bodied and disability athletes as we can, looking closely at need, talent and continued development in the sport, to make as much impact as we can with the RPMF Grants.
Last year we were able to award 225 RPMF Grants, totalling over £45,000, to young athletes in need. The continued impact that our awards have on the sport can be seen within the selections of the Great Britain Athletics Teams for major senior and age group competitions, such as Doha2019 World Championships and the European U20 and U23 Championships in Sweden this past summer, where between 60% and 70% of the Team Members had been the recipient of an RPMF Grant at some point in their development.
Indeed, current superstars of our sport, such as Dina Asher-Smith, Adam Gemili and Laura Muir, as well as future stars such as Niamh Emerson and Josh Zeller have all been supported by the Ron Pickering Memorial Fund. If you are looking to follow in their footsteps then make sure that you apply for a 2020 RPMF Grant!
