A massive thanks and good luck to everyone who is taking part in the 39th London Marathon, to raise money for the Ron Pickering Memorial Fund.

We are also extremely grateful for the ongoing support of Nike, for ensuring the Ronners will be kitted out to perfection, as they pound the pavements of the capital.

Nike has a team running for Ron and we welcome Charlie, Oli, Jacob, Tanya and Neil. Joining them will be six solo Ronners – Riccardo, Aaron, Tom, Katharina, Alexander and Laura, plus teams from Vitality, Grant Thornton and TheDoRonRonners. We have a duo, which includes an Olympic 3000m silver medallist, Wendy Sly, and her great friend, Sylvia Kerambrum, who are celebrating their 60th birthdays with a casual 26.2-mile challenge!

Each of the Ronners is working hard to fundraise as much as they possibly can, but they all need your support!

Find out why they are Running 4 Ron and how you can help them:

For 12 years Riccardo was wheelchair bound and in constant agony after a diagnosis of Guillain Barre Syndrome. This is where the immune system attacks healthy nerve cells in the nervous system. In 2016 he forced himself to run and the pain disappeared. On Sunday he’s Running 4 Ron. Read more and donate to Riccardo here.

Grant Thornton’s Hamish ran his first marathon in Paris last year. It did not go to plan: “I ended up in the back of an ambulance with severe heat stroke – hopefully not to be repeated!” He says he will be, “doing a rain dance the day before this year.” Support Hamish to finish London here.

Alexander hates running, but he has taken on the marathon and in Movember will also be growing a moustache to raise funds.  He passionately agrees with the aims of  Ron and Jean Pickering’s, “outstanding charity.”  Here’s how you can support Alexander.

For Wendy and Sylvia – a party and a piece of cake is not enough. This dynamic (and athletically talented) duo is instead celebrating their significant birthdays and their friendship with a marathon.

The London Marathon has been an ambition of  Vitality’s Andy, since he started running seven years ago. He is delighted to be achieving his dream and supporting The Ron Pickering Memorial Fund. Find out why here.

Robert like his workmate Andy has always wanted to run a marathon and can’t think of a charity he would rather do it for. Donate to Rob.

“I’m no athlete,” says Athos, ” but the opportunity to participate in the London Marathon and assist RPMF is an AWESOME privilege.” Support Athos and find out more about him here.

Vitality’s  Cassandra, is a strength athlete and she’s just competed in the British Women’s Classic Powerlifting Championships, which gave her just eight weeks of training for the marathon.  Help her through it by donating now.

The last Vitality runner Andrew jokes that friends may see him on TV, “in the back of an ambulance.”  Hopefully not! Andy is determined to finish the marathon to help the next generation of athletic superstars. Please help him hit his goal

TheDoRonRonners – will be having fun as they Ron Ron!  Donate to Kate, Adele, Jenna and Cassy.

Please also support AaronTom, Katharina and Laura who are all running to help the next Jessica Ennis-Hill, Christine Ohuruogu, Mo Farah, Goldie Sayers or Greg Rutherford emerge.
